F. A. Training is an accredited training organisation specialising in continuing education, set up to support the sharing of knowledge and the positive development of practices.
Because knowledge is the most important basis for our bright future, I'm committed to helping horse lovers by offering high-quality seminars, conferences, information days and exchanges... created especially for you, tailored to your expectations and needs, thanks to my solid professional experience as a breeder, trainer, international judge and consultant.
You can choose from the "ready to provide" topics below, or we can work together to create a tailor-made learning process for you, either at your place or at a suitable venue.
The training is delivered using an interactive, flexible and dynamic pedagogical approach that arouses interest, meets participants' expectations as closely as possible and offers optimal benefits for each participant, in close alignment with their individual characteristics and needs. An alternation of theoretical content, questions and exchanges, practical exercises, reflections and deductions are arranged in such a way as to encourage learning and the use of acquired knowledge.
Everything is possible!
Together, further!
SPORT HORSE
* Athlete horse - factuality and potential
Structure and conformation, functionality and biomechanics, gaits and movements are essential to know in order to be able to identify a horse's potential for a discipline. In this module, we will also look at the evolution of the horse as it grows, breed and discipline-specific conformation characteristics, as well as faults in conformation and gaits. We will also practise observation, taking landmarks on the horse's body and the practical evaluation of horses.
* Horse athlete in movement
Understanding the "horse system" in movement: study of gaits, their qualities and faults: breakdown of movements and functioning of parts. Observation, analysis of characteristics and deductions regarding the quality of locomotion. Disciplines and their specific functionality - consequences of selections. Practical exercises to evaluate gaits and the functional quality of the horse's locomotion will complete this module.
DISCIPLINES
* Knowing and evaluating the endurance horse
After a brief reminder of conformation and bone structure, discovery of the phenotypic characteristics of the endurance horse, the factors of functionality, resistance and durability and the faults of conformation and gaits, focus on the morphological specificities linked to the breeding orientation: the endurance phenotype and its locomotion. This theoretical unit will be complemented by practical exercises aimed at evaluating the morphological quality and gaits of horses, using a specific tool. We will briefly mention certain genetic diseases that can affect horses with Arabian blood.
CONFORMATION
* Let's talk about legs
A module focusing on the legs, their anatomy and proportions, so that we know all about their qualities, faults and defects and their consequences on the horse's health, well-being and use, as well as their heritability. Observation methodology and practical exercises to visualise the axes, angles, orientation and proportions of the different parts and the practical discovery of the specific limb assessment tool will complete the training.
* The clubfoot fan club
This specific problem is often misunderstood. Through a clear scientific approach, drawn from a variety of professional sources, an in-depth study of this defect and its consequences on posture, movement and the horse's sporting potential.
* Let's talk about necks and bodies
A module focusing on the neck and body, their anatomy and proportions, so that we know all about the qualities, defects and faults and their consequences on the horse's health, well-being and use, as well as their heritability. Observation methodology and practical exercises to visualise the axes, angles, orientation and proportions of the different parts and the practical discovery of the specific evaluation tool will complete the training.
BREEDING and HEALTH
* Making a foal, a visionary approach
Making choices is difficult, so give yourself the best chance of making the right ones! Clear, structured and objective thinking for intelligent, successful and forward-looking marriages; an analytical and multifactorial approach: taking stock of your project, knowing the analysis criteria and understanding the concept of selection, targeting improvement: evaluating breeding stock, selecting the ideal stallion/mare, contracts, responsibilities and commitment.
* Building your breeding programme
Putting together a successful project is complicated, so give yourself the best chance of making the right choices!
Clear, structured and objective thinking for an intelligent, successful and sustainable breeding programme; an analytical and multifactorial approach: taking stock of your project (selection criteria, your breeding objectives, your hopes and prospects for the future + individual feasibility study), knowing the analysis criteria (conformation, heritability, genetic diseases, specificities linked to orientation), implementing a selection programme, targeting improvement: building up and evaluating the herd, selecting actively and patiently, contracts, liability and insurance.
* A healthy horse is a sound investment
Doing everything possible to ensure that your herd is in good health means avoiding losses and reducing costs.
Safety: fencing, infrastructure, group formation, time management (foaling, work in hand, breaking-in, etc.); risk prevention: worming and vaccinations, farriery, daily maintenance, feed, observation, transport; choice of animals: objective analysis of horses, selection of healthy animals when buying, quarantine. The basis for day-to-day herd management, to secure your business.
* Genetics of coat colours
If you're a fan of original colours and special coat patterns, you're in for a treat! Together, we will dive into a structured and accessible discovery of coat colour and pattern genes, as well as understanding the mechanisms by which they are transmitted, resulting in some surprising phenotypes! Cross-breeding exercises, discussions and good humour will round off the day!
SALES
* Sales in the equine field
A very comprehensive module to help you optimise your sales and build customer loyalty: build your corporate image, your communication media, take photos, write advertising copy, publish in the media, set the price of a horse according to various objective and up-to-date criteria, talk money, analyse the target, adapt to it and to the market, prepare the horse and the location for the customer's visit, welcome the customer and optimise the visit, provide 'after-sales service'.
